Germany vs Mexico Betting Tips

Graeme Written on Sunday, June 10th, 2018

Group F in the 2018 World Cup kicks off with Germany vs Mexico on Sunday, June 17th. The other game in the group will take place the next day as Sweden take on South Korea.

The Germans are of course the holders of the 2014 World Cup when they beat Argentina in injury time. The tournament is mostly remembered for their 7-1 victory over Brazil in the Semi FInals.

Germany hardly broke a sweat in qualification with utter dominance. 10 games, 10 wins, 43 goals scored and just 4 goals conceded. They thumped everyone and the most impressive thing was how well spread out the goals were. Thomas Muller and Sandro Wagner were the top goalscorers with 5 goals each.

Mexico were CONCACAF Fifth Round winners with a 6-3-1 record in their gorup. They were impressive in the previous round as well with a 5-1-0 record and 13 goals scored with just 1 conceded.

Of course Germany are just a wee bit tougher than the likes of Canada. Just a tad.

Germany vs Mexico Betting Odds:

Germany To Win: 1.45
Mexico To Win: 7.50
Draw: 4.20

I’m backing the handicap bet of Germany -1 for 5 units. For more details read my analysis below or go ahead and place your bet at Bovada - get a $250 free welcome bonus.

Germany Analysis:

Is it possible that they’re even BETTER than last time out? It certainly seems that way. Their attack seems even more lethal than previously and they’ve got that ridiculously sick defense.

The depth Germany has is absolutely insane. They could easily field two or even three teams that’d be amongst the favourites to win the world cup.

The only issue is they are missing the leadership of previously like Schweinsteiger, Lahm and Mertesacker. Not a huge deal that but that’s the type of thing you kind of want in the later rounds.

Mexico Analysis:

Mexico have an excellent history in the World Cup and have qualified from the group stage 6 times in a row and are looking to make it 7.

They’re strongest in attack and while Javier Hernandez is the one people are talking about most, I’m very excited to see Hirving Lozano. He just seems to be going from strength to strength and had an amazing season for PSV.

However their attack is going to have to be at their best to get a goal against Germany.

Germany vs Mexico Betting Tips:

I just can’t see by the Germans. They’re just too damn good. They opened up the 2014 World Cup with a thumping of Portugal and I see similar.

If Mexico can get something past this defense then good for them but I’m backing Germany -1 and I’m going with 5 whopping units. 2.30 odds is a great price in my opinion considering the strength of this nation.

Mexico could have scored 4 if they take the right option when they counter.

Yep was great seeing Lozano get the goal could have been a few more for them. I rated them highly but couldn’t see past Germany. They could go far.

Over 3 @ 2.08
Mexico (+0.5) @ 2.94

Both nations are experienced so I don’t think either they will play too cagey, both capable of scoring (Germany are capable of running the score up when they get going). I don’t think it will be a blowout, I’m thinking more like 2-2. GLTA

Os.

here I come on Germany! It is my country and in my opinion they suck this time. Ok, they got Marco Reus for the first time in a tournament (Reus missed Euros 2016 and WC 2014 due to injuries), and with Reus / Werner / Kimmich / Ginter the team has some really good new and young players completing the “old” players like Kroos, Müller, Kedeira, Özil, Hummels or Boateng. But nevertheless, since those unexpected results vs. Austria (1-2) and Saudi Arabia (2-1 -only) the atmo seems to be poised especially since the Özil/Gündogan picture with Erdogan scandal and the removing of the term “Nationalteam” in favour of “The Team” in general. Here in Germany the support for their team is really limited since, not a few say its time to be kicked out early to settle back. As well theres not many fond of these games happenin in Russia (and Qatar in 4 years) so its all too tainted in terms of enthusiasm compared to 2006. So, whats left to say on bets then? Will Germany end as the groups leader and surpass pres. Switzerland in the Quaterfinals? If Germany trips vs. Mexico or Sweden (SKorea they wont) it’s finish in the Quarterfinals vs. Brazil, whom I see as the troughout winner besides France this time. Now, both Mexico and Sweden are no easy opponents in moments like this, and 2 draws and one win leads to 2nd place only. Means, a win vs. Mexico is crucial both for A) 1st place and B) a psychological advantage vs Sweden. Only then Germany will end as first and thats what I would bet on: Germany group winner with 7-9 points. Under 3.5 vs Mexico, hard fought BTS vs. Sweden, Handicap -1 vs. South Korea. GL!
