EFL Cup Bets: Sep 23, 2020

Graeme Written on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2020

Some good action in the EPL on Sunday and we went 3-1.

We won with Tottenham at 2.37 odds which was a nice one as they thumped Southampton. Really did seem my theory of Bale giving the club a lift worked out and it was nice to see. Also won with the over in Newcastle vs Brighton although I expected Newcastle to contribute. Final win was in the Leicester game BTTS.

One loss was over 3.5 goals in Chelsea vs Liverpool. Surprisingly tight game and Chelsea really struggled to get chances off.

There’s a bunch of EFL Cup games taking place on Wednesday and I’ll look into them and do a couple of bets. Basically just breeze through the stats and metrics and pick out a couple of games to do small bets on.

EFL Cup Betting Tips:

I’m always wary of this cup as you never know if they are going to rest players or not so having looked into it I am going to go with just two bets.

Fulham vs Sheffield Wednesday: Contrasting starts to the season for both teams. Sheffield Wednesday have a win and a draw with two clean sheets in the Championship while Fulham have lost both EPL games against Arsenal and the mighty Leeds United.

Feels like one of those competitive games. Fulham will want to use it to get back on track while Sheffield Wednesday will see weakness and be up for it. Fulham are expected to make quite a few changes and probably won’t care about this game too much but I like them to get the goals going here. 1u on Over 2.5 Goals at 1.85.

Millwall vs Burnley: I think the mighty Millwall might be able to pull off an upset here. Burnley have had a disjointed start to the season with not being able to play the Man Utd game then going up against Leicester. There is no real depth to Burnley either.

Millwall have been solid if unspectacular this season so far but I think they can bring the competition. Burnley needed penalties to beat Sheff Utd. Goals may be an issue for Millwall but I am going to go with Milwall – Draw No Bet at 1.83 odds for 0.5u.
